Name: Pallas Athena
Domain: Wisdom, battle tactics, and weaving. She is also recognized as the patron deity of Athens, having given the people the olive tree.
Powers: Athena can assume a mortal form, as many gods are able, and has displayed the ability to turn mortals into other forms as well, such as in the story of Arachne.
Personality: Calm, analytical and pragmatic, with no mind for frills, luxuries or foolishness, though like all goddesses she can have her fits of temper. Athena appreciates logical thinking and has often supported heroes who fought by their wits, such as Odysseus. The state of humanity’s stupidity today astounds and saddens her a great deal: Almost no one calls on her aid now, and that’s leading to boredom.
History: The prophecy was that one of Zeus’ children would overthrow him, as he had overthrown his father Cronos, and at first he feared the consequences of lying with Metis, the goddess of prudence and one of his many wives. So he challenged her to a game of changing shapes, and forgetting herself, Metis gleefully transformed herself into many animals, but when she became a fly, Zeus swallowed her and kept her in his mind for her sage advice.
But Metis had already conceived, and as her due date approached, she began making a robe, helmet and shield for her coming child. Her hammering gave Zeus the worst headache he would ever experience, and he called Hephaestus to bring his hammer and split his head. The blacksmith obeyed, and from Zeus’ head sprang Athena, fully grown, garbed and armed.
Appearance: Often portrayed as an aloof, serene beauty with gray eyes, and wavy brunette hair tucked under her helmet. Her robes are gray and gold, with a gold breastplate and sandals.

Name: Persephone
Domain: The underworld.
Powers: Like many of the Greek gods, she has demonstrated the ability to turn humans or humanoid beings into different plants or animals. As the queen of the underworld, she helps Hades insure everything runs as it should.
Personality: Aboveground, she has a sunny and sweet disposition, appreciative of beauty, loving flowers and sunshine, the company of her friends and mother. Persephone earnestly prefers her life in the world above, but she also knows her duty as Hades’ queen, and does return of her own will, albeit reluctantly. In the world of the dead, she is cold, remote, lonely, sitting by her husband’s side on their thrones of black marble.
History: Demeter loved her daughter so, she kept Persephone to herself and rejected the advances of the gods who would woo the girl. When seated in the council of the gods, Persephone was always in her mother’s lap. Then came the day when Persephone’s friends looked away for an instant, and Hades kidnapped her, making her his bride and refusing to part with her until Zeus himself demanded it. The young goddess, however, was to return four months of each year because of the pomegranate seeds she had consumed during her time in the underworld. The Fates had decreed anyone who ate or drank the bounty of the land of the dead would forever be tied there, and not even gods could refute this rule. Persephone was lucky, as she had not partaken of the entire fruit.
Appearance: Also portrayed as a gray-eyed maiden with dark brunette curls, red lips and fair skin. She wears black silk and jewels in the world of the dead, and purple and flowers on Earth and with the other Olympians.
