There are several ways that immortals may exert thier influence on the mortal realm. Most of these are in the form of miracles, but there are other ways that Gods can directly mess with the affairs of humans.
-When a God physically crosses over into the mortal realm they take a gigantic blow in power. Here an immortal only possesses the strength of a normal human. To put this into context they could win a fight easily against a street thug, but unless thier domain has something to do with fighting they would probably get beaten by a professional boxer.
-Gods can create champions and make other sort of miracles
dependent on how many prayers they possess to do so. A miracle is an act of an immortal that effects the world of mortals.
-With a major miracle a God can create an avatar, which is an influence of the self directly in the mortal world. A God cannot be at the mortal plane with the avatar at any time or else the avatar will dissolve.
