Naito Shidani stops his motorcycle at a small shrine dedicated to Cadiz. Turning off the engine, Shidani listens to the quiet for a minute, a luxury he rarely has anymore. Removing his helmet, and putting it with his motorcycle, Shidani walks towards the shrine. He has no interest in Cadiz, but one of his secrets is that he is a follower of Eclipse, and hasn't met many who know of the Chaos-Dreams pantheon, much less that follow one, and so he came to meet those who could be interesting to him.

Thessa, ever-vigilant, was just within the threshold of her temple. Hearing Naito's motorcycle, she rose and met him in the doorway, bowing politely.
"Welcome to the House of Cadiz," she greeted him. "How may I serve you?"

Shidani bows, formally. "Greetings," says Shidani, his English somewhat broken and imperfect, but understandable. "I am Shidani Knight," he decides to introduce himself in the English style of given name first, "a follower of Eclipse. I am here to meet with others who follow the gods of the Chaos-Dreams pantheon." Shidani smiles pleasantly at Thessa.

Thessa does not smile back but her tone is a touch warmer. She speaks in their native tongue, "No need to struggle speaking English, I can speak Japanese fluently too. Come inside and make yourself comfortable. Eclipse, hm... The... Lord of Battle, correct?"

"Thanks," says Shidani in Japanese as he enters. "As you say, Eclipse is the Lord of Battle."

"Are you a warrior then?" Thessa asks politely, though she honestly didn't care. She was looking for something to offer as refreshment, but there wasn't much in the way of non-fatal edibles.

"I like to think of myself as one, even if the samurai no longer are needed in these times."

"Noble enough," Thessa muttered, finally finding some refreshments. "Though perhaps you could answer a question for me..." She brought the snacks and set them down in Shidani's easy reach. "Eclipse's teachings, from what I gather in the Book of Dreams, are fairly noble. Why, then, does he keep with the Abyss?"

"Blood. He is son of Demetria, so he feels he has an obligation to the Abyss, and wouldn't betray it. Also, that same blood is unlikely to be accepted by any of the pantheon except those of the Abyss, so the Abyss is the only place he can turn to when he is in times of need," Shidani explains. "That's why he's spent years at a time in the mortal realms, to escape his blood without betraying it." Shidani takes a snack, and devours it quickly.

"How sad," she said in the flat tone of someone without a drop of sympathy in her. "Does his worshiper have a similarly sorrowful tale?"

"No, those that choose to follow him do so to walk the same path as him. To find strength of self."
