Thessa stood back, taking a moment to indulge in a little pride. She'd taken her meager home and gutted it, selling off almost everything she owned to fund her project. Now it was a quaint, but elegant shrine to Cadiz, decked in black and white decor with the occasional raven sign making an appearance. She had an altar to him, possessing the most expensive item; a small, obsidian raven on a wooden pedestal. There were seats for the faithful to come pray, but hidden away in the back room was a series of cots and an assortment of... "medicine". She wasn't quite sure yet how she'd spread the word that her temple was a place the despairing, dying, and miserable could come to find a gentle release to the pains of the mortal life.
"I hope you are satisfied, my lord," Thessa breathed, placing a bowl before the raven figure for donations.

Ryder looks full of despair as he walks through the area holding a Japanese translation guide. "I spent the whole flight reading this and I still managed to get lost.." Looking up at the home in front of him he noticed a raven symbol he thought looked familar. Dropping his bag, he reaches in and pulls out a mythos book on the Chaos-Dreams pantheon. Thumbing through it he finds the symbol to be related to the God of Death. "This might be the person Phil told me about."
Picking up his bag in an excited manner he runs to the door and knocks.

The door opens; Thessa berated herself for not leaving it open. She needed to work on her paranoid habits. "Welcome to the House of the Merciful Reaper," she answered in a soft, almost raspy voice. "How may I help you?"

Ryder overcome with joy loses his composure and immediately hugs the woman. "Ah am I lucky to find you. Phil told me about you being here but he didn't mention your name." Ryder takes a step back and introduces himself. "I'm Ryder..I was sent here on a "fact finding mission" by Alethia..ya know..Alethia and her helper told me there was someone in Japan working for the God of Death. Since we're technically brethen faith wise..I hope you can help me."

Thessa stiffens like a board in Ryder's arms. When he's done talking, she tries to push him off. Unfortunately, he was right. She had studied the mythos very intensely and Cadiz was in good graces with Alethia, who was technically his boss in a way. That would make this... boy... her superior. She repressed the urge to sigh. "Very well. I will ask again then; how may I help you? Precisely this time."

"Uh well.." Ryder rubs the back of his head while he figures out how to answer that question. "Your goal and my goal are basically the same..and you do know the area better than me. So would you like to help me convert Japan to the Chaos-Dream pantheon?"

"I suppose," Thessa remarked warily. "If you worship Alethia, then do you have very good idea how to get information spread?"

"Ah yes I do. Pamphlets and flyers and booklets. We could organize a bunch of those with information about Alethia and Cadiz and maybe some of the other gods, then we could spread it all around the area."

Thessa gave him an odd look. "I don't know what you're talking about. That must be an American thing... Explain?"

Ryder nods and starts to explain it. "Well the pamphlet would have general information about the pantheon that we want the people to know so we can convert Japan. We use the pamphlets to get them interested and the flyers will I guess lead them here so if they have more questions and are really considering converting we can help them."

I still don't understand the terminology but I'm beginning to get the picture. "Paper is expensive," she pointed out coolly. "I am but a poor priestess. I hope you intend to fund these 'pamphlets' and 'fliers'."

Ryder reaches into the envelope he had received from Phil and converted over to Japanese currency. Ryder shows Thessa the envelope. "This should cover it right?"

Thessa takes a step back in shock.
Lord Cadiz delivers! she thought gleefully, though her mask remained a serene, emotionless picture. "That should do very well. So we spread information about our gods; that seems a good idea. But we need to show that our gods can give them something that they crave. Cadiz delivers people to the afterlife gently, and while maintaining their honor. What can your Alethia give the Japanese people?"

Ryder smirks and puts away the envelope. "Alethia is the goddess of knowledge and I do believe Japan highly values its education. With Alethia's gift of knowledge Japan could grow more prosperous and get a better footing in the world."

"Knowledge is power," Thessa agreed hesitantly, quoting one of the credos that Alethia's followers often went by. "Very well; we'll see how well this goes. Come with me to buy supplies and then we'll get to work."
