Darkness eyes her. "Oh really? Well little one, just you keep these friends of yours out of my realm or I'll risk your parents wrath and tan your hide for you," he warns, but there's amusement in the threat.

"If they can resist," Illuminous giggles. After a few moments of reverie, she asks, "Will they be okay? Mom and Dad? And Noel?"

Darkness hesitates, wondering how much of the truth to tell Illuminous. She's a child, yes, but at the same time she's going to learn that her parents aren't infailable eventually. "Illuminous," he sighes. "Your parents are going to do their very, very best. But not even they can win every time. We've been lucky with Sombra so far, she's fairly predictable... But that can change and we know very little about her new allies." Darkness strokes Illuminous' hair. "The hardest part about a fight is being the one left behind because all you can do is wait and hope..."

Illuminous wondered if he spoke from experience. Having nothing better to do, she decided to pry a little. "Did you ever have to wait on someone going to battle?" She had always assumed he was the battler.

"Yes," Darkness replies simply.

"When? Who?" Illuminous asked, leaning forward a little, acting like her apparent age again; a little girl who's caught the scent of a new story.

Darkness is silent for a long time and it seems like he isn't going to answer for awhile until he finally speaks. "When I was a little older then you. And my own twin."

"You had a twin!?" Illuminous gasps. "Who was he or she? Why haven't I ever heard of them?"

"Because Celesta and I don't like to think of her, Shadow would rather cling to the belief that Sombra was at least an innocent as a child and your mother wouldn't think it a story you should hear," Darkness growls, then takes a deep breath. "You're not the first Light-Shadow this pantheon has had, Illuminous. My sister, Kera, was as well... She didn't survive to be much older then you are either." Darkness stares off into space for a long moment. "She and Sombra hated each other from the moment they met. I don't know if that was the cause, or if Kera knew something the rest of us didn't... but she told me one day that she had to talk to Sombra and made me give her my word to stay home, no matter what..." Darkness shakes head. "Like a fool, I agreed... and I never saw her alive again. Sombra swore she never saw Kera, but..." Darkness snorts. "Sombra's power isn't limited to controling mortals and I've never known a divine to destroy theirselves for no reason." Darkness looks up and adds, "We have visitors in the netural area. Come on Illuminous, since there's no one else home I suppose it's our duty to greet them."
Clearly the conversation is at an end.
