A young girl wearing tan clothing, sandals, and a cream-colored cloak with the hood up, wanders alone through the marketplace. She doesn't look lost or afraid, just calmly and curiously looking around, and occasionally picking up something from one of the stalls to get a better look before putting it back down. Considering all the things she looks at without buying, it seems she doesn't have any money, but knows the only thing she can get for free in the marketplace is a better look at what is for sale.

A woman in her latter twenties walked up to the same stand that the young girl was eyeing at the time. She was nibbling at her leisure off an apple, wearing a midriff shirt and long pants. One could tell by her sweating though that even the pants were a little much for her in this weather. She was much more used to the colder reaches of her homeland.
"Window shopping is always fun eh? Its just the few times you wish you had a couple extra coins."
She hoped that the girl would recognize that Carla was adressing her. She hates starting a conversation with 'hey' anything, prefers to just go off of some amusing common observation. It is funny to catch her during an awkward silence and she can't find any way to start the conversation up again.

The little girl turns toward the new arrival, and says cheerfully, "Yes it is... A lot of these things I'm only seen from a distance or because big brother brought me one. They look different now, maybe because the last time big brother had time off work to get something was years ago." She tilts her head then. "Coins? I don't know much about those. Big brother didn't tell me about how to use coins, just what they are..."
Despite her childish appearence and way of speaking, something about her suggests she's atleast a little older than she looks.

Carla looked strangly at her for a moment until she decided it was simply from youthful ignorance she didn't grasp the concept of money. Or... she said from a distance, perhaps she was from a native tribe or something that used mostly bartering. She looked tiny enough for that to be the case.
"I use coin as an expression of speech, to mean money in general. I think they would prefer thier paper money," she hands the girl what is the eqivalent of ten Euros in the local currency, "go ahead and use those if you like, what is your name anyway little one?"
She smiled happily and wamrly, she was fine with giving the money away to the girl. She looked like she needed it more then her anyway, the poor thing looks like she could qualify for starving, or extremly fit, but she didn't think the latter was possible at the age the girl seems to be at.
(OOC: I hope you don't mind me not doing currency conversions :-P)

(That's fine. ) The young girl looks at the Euros, then quickly back up to Carla's face. However, her hood slips slightly, revealing one of her cat-like ears which twitchs slightly when she hears something off to the side. "Thank you," she says, and accepts the currency. "My name is... Mache." She doesn't see any reason to lie, and doubts that Carla would have heard of her. From what can be seen, she doesn't look unhealthy, fortunately.

She heard Mache's name, but then looked strangly at her ear. Perhaps there was just something hidden in the girls hair or something.
"Well isn't that adorable, are you wearing a tiara or something Mache?"
Carla didn't exactally think at that moment and impulsively reached over to give it a soft tug. She didn't even worry about whether or not this would scare the poor girl off.

Mache shakes her head slightly when her ear is tugged on to try to free herself which unfortunately causes her other ear to be uncovered.
"I'm not wearing a tiara... my ears don't come off, actually." She looks curiously at Carla, and asks, "Why are you so puzzled? My family didn't seem confused at all..."

Carla looks at the girl for a while, blinks a couple times as if during a double take, shakes her head and finally smooths out. She wasn't one to overreact, although she had never seen anything like this before.
"My... that is odd, I really havn't seen anything like that. You see, most humans don't have the ears of a feline. I apologize if the fact that strikes me as odd upsets you but... Wow."
She tried sounding as soothing and understanding as possible, but that kinda degraded over time. Uptight and high and mighty wasn't her way, she only knew how to talk that way due to her teachings. Even then she hardly even did it as she was supposed to during sermons.

Mache's ears droop, and she asks sadly, "Is that wrong? I know most people don't, but I do and no one seemed to think my ears are strange at all back home." She shakes her head to clear it then asks, "What kind of immortals do you like? You don't look like you're around here, so maybe you like one that I don't know."
Perhaps she really is a child...

Carla looked at Mache like someone would look at a starving kitten when she asked her question. It was hard enough for her to hold back the coo that was stuck in her throat.
"Its not wrong, just odd in an adorable sort of way. I worship the goddess Freya, of the norse pantheon. Where is your home if I may ask?"
She gets on one knee in order to talk to the girl eye to eye, she was one of the cutest human beings she has seen in her life. Maybe it was because of the feline characteristics, but she hardly cared at the moment.

"I live in Terra d'Mem-memoria," Mache answers with a smile, proud of herself for pronouncing the full name of her home. Though actually the name of the home of the Signet immortals, the name could also belong to an obscure South American village based on the name. "I don't know Freya, maybe I'll meet her someday."

The woman thought about whether or not she had heard the name of the place the girl referred too. Unfortunately it didn't ring a bell at all, perhaps she was from one of the old French provinces.
"Terra d'Memoria? Are you from Guyana or Peru then?" She smiled kind heartedly before continuing further, "Well, you would be a very lucky girl to meet Freya, I have served her all my life and have had nothing more then visions in my sleep."
Even those she questioned whether or not that was the real Freya, as she hardly ever saw a body matching her mental image of the woman. Freya is the best looking lady in Asgard, perhaps her mind just couldn't process the actual thought of her to actually see her whiel sleeping.

"I went to Guyana, and Peru before coming here," Mache chirps, misunderstanding the question. She pauses a moment before continuing in a confident tone, "I'm sure I will, and that you will, too. All we have to do is find and knock on her door, and she'll let us in, right?"

Carla was now confused out of her head. The girl did have spunk though and a strong faith. Those alone were endearing enough to her heart that she didn't give up on this girl.
"Well, that most certainly is a most blessed way to look at it Mache. You are right, even as mortals if we keep the faith we will some day be admitted into Asgard."
She just smiled, she didn't want to press the girl any more with questions about her origin. She must be from some sort of nomadic group, although she dosn't remember hearing of such a thing in South America before. Then again she dosn't know all that much about South America.

Something clicks in Mache's head then.
"Asgard? My big brother said he was going to try to go there and meet Odin," she announces, proud of herself for putting the pieces together. "I think he said he wanted to ask something that he didn't think anyone else knew the right answer to. I heard that Odin knows everything, including what sock someone put on first on any day."
